Villa Guardamangia

The adaptive reuse of Villa Guardamangia as a boutique hotel with royal heritage is the idea behind this proposal. In order to achieve a balance between authenticity and contemporary comfort, it investigates how historic building might be maintained while incorporating modern hospitality features. In order to improve the tourist experience without sacrificing the building's cultural relevance, the design places a strong emphasis on spatial hierarchy, material integrity, and subtle allusions to royal heritage.

1

Mood Board

Inspired by significant events in Queen Elizabeth II's reign, the design development investigates a number of themed guest rooms. Each "Jubilee Room" uses color, materiality, and subtle symbolic allusions to convert royal identity into a modern interior language. The design emphasizes elegance, restraint, and authenticity over literal or ornamental interpretations, resulting in a sophisticated boutique experience that embodies both tradition and contemporary comfort.

2

Material Board

The material palette is designed to preserve a modern and unified interior language while reflecting the sophisticated nature of royal ancestry. A unique color scheme—silver, gold, diamond, and platinum—expressed through rich textures, plush materials, and glittering finishes characterizes each Jubilee space. The choice emphasizes grace and moderation, fusing contemporary materials with classic details to improve the room's authenticity and comfort.

Technical Drawings

The ground and first floor levels of the project's spatial organization and functional layout are depicted in the technical drawings. They ensure a clear and effective design by emphasizing circulation, zoning, and the relationships between various places. With an emphasis on accuracy, proportion, and utility, these drawings show how the project developed from concept to thorough planning.
